Personalised Oliver's Taranga Small Batch Fiano 2023 13% 750ml

Personalised Oliver's Taranga Small Batch Fiano 2023 13% 750ml

With Fiano being a relatively new variety to Australia (originates from the Campagna region of Italy) who better than the Oliver family now celebrating over 170 years of grape growing, to create this Taranga farm favourite. This delicious drop is all sweet ripe lime and pear flavours with loads of texture - perfect for lovers of fresh crisp white wines. As Gary Walsh said "dangerously easy to drink". Fiano is relatively new variety to Australia, and originates from the Campania region of Italy. Fiano is super heat and drought tolerant, being able to maintain acidity in the grapes even in our hot South Australian summers.

Expert Review:
A WONDERFUL WINE- 93 Points, Fresh and lip-smackingly textural, here is another Oliver's Taranga Fiano sure to get you in the mood. Food pairing comes easy with wines like these. Bristling with fresh fruit and framed by savoury feels, the persistent finish keeps you coming back. Aromas of lemons, lime leaf and cut herb make an enticing intro. A little time in the glass encourages slivers of ginger with basil to step forward. Sift a little deeper for cut pear and raw cashew nuttiness as you welcome them to the pleasuredome. There is a cool presence about it as a minerally vibe pushes through leading to Mediterranean tonic feels on close. A wonderful wine in so many ways. Go here.

In 1839 William and Elizabeth Oliver travelled to South Australia from Scotland and eventually settled in 1841 on land at McLaren Vale. Whitehill and Taranga farms, the names given to the northern and southern sections of this land, are located 2 km north of McLaren Vale overlooking the township. Taranga is a corruption of the aboriginal word Tarangk, meaning 'the middle' which was used by the Kaurna, a local aboriginal tribe. Sheep and cattle were raised and orchards and vineyards were planted immediately upon arrival and the family prospered. Both properties are still run by fifth generation descendants of William and Elizabeth, with the Whitehill property utilized for cropping and grazing sheep and cattle and boasting a rejuvenated stone 'Chaff Shed' which is used as a function centre and Taranga, which consists of 100 hectares of land, being planted to many different varieties of red and white wine grapes.
