Tasting Notes

Palate
A wine of great delicacy and finesse. A fine, dry aperitif style, the extended time on lees imparts wonderful complexity and texture. Pure, with incredible line and length, the wine has a poised, lingering finish.

Winemakers comments
Robert and Mem Kirby established the Yabby Lake Vineyard in 1998. This Single Vineyard Cuvée is named after their daughter Nina.

Vintage notes
2020 will be remembered for many things other than the unique wine growing season it produced. The wines are super fine and made in tiny quantities.

Vinification
Traditional Method. Whole bunch pressed, only the cuvée used (512.5L/t). Primary fermentation in stainless steel before bottling, followed by secondary fermentation in bottle with four years on lees. Assemblage: 43% 2020 pinot noir, 44% 2020 chardonnay, 13% reserve wine (2019 vintage – 6% chardonnay, 7% pinot noir).
