VINIFICATION
The fruit is handpicked into crates, tipped into tractor trailers for transportation to the winery where they are transferred to the hopper for crushing and destemming. Depending on the cru the grape must is either fermented in 10hl concrete fermenters or smaller stainless steel fermenters. Pumped over twice daily during the active part of the ferment and monitored for temperature and baume throughout the life of the ferment. Delestage is also undertaken at least once during the course of the fermentation. After fermentation is complete the wine is left of skins for an extended period of time and then pressed to tank, approximately 30 days skin contact in total. The wine is racked off gross lees and then post malolactic fermentation put to barrel for maturation in older & larger format oak casks. the finest balance of fruit and oak was used to craft this elegant wine.
MATURATION
24 months.

EXPERT REVIEWS
Jeni Port
95 Pointsout of 100.
A collaboration between Barolo winemaker Davide Rosso (of Giovanni Rosso), and Tar & Roses' Narelle King. Equal parts commune Barolo, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga. Break out the decanter and the good glassware, this is something special. Is there anything more captivating, ethereal and so darn gorgeous as classic Barolo aromatics? Rose petal, rosehip, red cherry, aniseed, cola, fruit peel and Campari rise and rise. Flavour intensity grows in the glass, earthy, savoury tannins slowly unfold, fruit power rises and the effect is one of lively elegance. Runs long, compellingly so. Captures a classic Barolo vintage brilliantly.
