Tasting Notes

Aroma
A classic Riesling made from Mudgee fruit, displaying floral aromas.

Palate
Citrus and lime juice on the palate. This wine has a crisp finish, with a touch of sweetness to balance the natural acidity.

Food matching
This style of Riesling is well suited to Thai curry and creamy cheese.

Vinification
This Riesling was made from Mudgee fruit selected from numerous other high elevation Mudgee sites. The fruit was whole bunch pressed, then fermented cool in a stainless steel tank using an inoculated yeast. A small amount of lees contact offers complexity and nuanced texture.

Vintage notes
The growing season started with excellent winter rains allowing us to concentrate on building soil and vine health. The rain eased throughout Spring which allowed our vineyard to produce excellent fruit. Summer showers led to a tricky harvest, however our elevation and vineyard slope allowed the rain to drain out of the vineyard, and our cover crop soaked up the excess water. It was a short harvest period, with just enough sun and warmth to ripen all varieties nicely and we have great concentration and balance in all of our wines this year.
