Aroma
Aromas of white peach, grapefruit pith and struck match lead into a tightly coiled, mineral palate.

Palate
The cool vintage lends freshness and drive, with layered citrus, nectarine and subtle cashew notes from barrel ferment. Texture is sleek and chalky, with fine acid and savoury length. Wild ferment funk and spicy oak are beautifully integrated, framing the fruit without dominating. A precise, age-worthy Chardonnay from mature vines in a cool year.

Roast poultry, gnocchi with sage buter, pan seared barramundi.

Vinification
The fruit was hand-harvested, crushed and soaked on skins overnight before pressing directly to French oak barrels (approximately 30% new, with the balance in first- and second-fill oak). Indigenous yeasts carried out fermentation over 21 days. The wine remained in barrel on full solids for 12 months, allowing texture to build naturally. No fining; minimal filtration at bottling.

Vintage notes
2023 was a cool and slow-ripening vintage across the Canberra District. Regular rainfall throughout Spring and Summer brought healthy canopy growth but also elevated disease pressure. Careful vineyard management allowed fruit to ripen cleanly and gradually through a mild and extended Autumn. The result was Chardonnay with bright acidity, restrained alcohol and excellent flavour concentration.
