The 2025 Contesa Pecorino Abruzzo DOC is a vibrant organic white wine from Abruzzo, crafted by Azienda Agricola Contesa from 100% Pecorino, one of central Italy's most distinctive native grape varieties. Grown in the Vigneto al Lago vineyard on clay-limestone soils, the wine undergoes cool fermentation and stainless steel maturation to preserve its purity, freshness and mineral character. It opens with inviting aromas of white peach, citrus, grapefruit and ripe pear, complemented by delicate floral notes and subtle savoury nuances.
On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a beautifully textured mouthfeel and bright natural acidity. Flavours of white peach, lemon, grapefruit and orchard fruit are layered with a pronounced mineral backbone and a gentle nutty complexity, leading to a long, crisp finish with a touch of spice. The combination of freshness, texture and vibrant acidity makes it an excellent example of modern Abruzzo Pecorino.
