Nikka was the life’s work of Masataka Taketsuru, the “Father of Japanese Whisky" whose products are celebrated around the world for their quality. 

Nikka Tailored Premium Japanese Whisky was release in 2019 as the long-awaited replacement for the Nikka 12 Year Old. This whisky has been exceptionally produced.

Nose: Very elegant with bright fruits, such as apples, pomegranate and banana, but also notes of sandalwood, honey and coconut. A very gentle herbacious touch too, leaning more towards aniseed-y and fennel-esque notes.

Taste: Rather creamy with the gentlest hint of wood smoke, a nice maltiness and dark caramel. There’s a sliver of chocolate too, as well as a fair bit of teak, orange liqueur, and a hint of liquorice.

Finish: On the shorter side. The oak lingers for a bit before we descend into sweet, honey-like territory.
