Artesanal was borne to exclusively represent and support female and ultra small mezcal producers who incorporate. sustainable organic farming practices and genuine artisanal craft production methods in remote areas of Mexico.

The Artesanal brand aims to empower female & ultra small produces in a celebration of their prized art while educating consumers by providing all necessary information required to identify, and find a great quality agave distillate. On the back label of each of our bottles, you will find information on the agave varietal type, the artisans who made it, the villages they are from, and all the relevant details of the artisanal craft production processes utilised in their production.

Each of our ultra small batch series aids and helps preserve the dignity and way of life of the master artisans in their small rural communities, and is naturally made in line with their native traditional ethnobotanical practices without the use of any additives.

Agave Type: Agave Papalometl “Cupreata” wild harvested Altitude: 2220 meters.
Roasting Method: Earth Pit Oven Oven.
Mashing Method: Tahona Stone Wheel.
Fermentation: Wood Vats 100% natural airborne yeasts.
Water utilised: Natural Spring.
Distillation: 200L Copper Still, triple distilled with Oranges, Mandarins, Lemons and Cinnamon.
Type of distillate: Young.

TASTING NOTES
Aroma: Citrus peel, marmalade, fresh orange and mandarins with notes of cinnamon and smoked wood. Delicate hints of bergamot, hay bale and corn husk.
Palate: Full-bodied mouthfeel with complex flavours of dark cacao and sweet orange Jaffa cake. Notes of cinnamon spice, coffee grounds and charred wood with subtle sweet mineral hints of slow cooked agave and aromatic oils.
Finish: Long, complex and powerful with delicious hints of citrus oils and that leaves the palate tingling and wanting more.
Food Pairing: Roast Lamb, Duck a l’Orange, Lemon Herb Chicken, Seared Scallops, Salmon Carpaccio, Beef Carpaccio.
