Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is inspired by the best whiskey-maker the world never knew, the first African-American master distiller on record in the United States, Nathan “Nearest” Green.

Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey is a 93-proof whiskey distilled, aged and bottled entirely by at Nearest Green Distillery. Each batch is curated by 5th generation Nearest Green descendant and Master Blender, Victoria Eady Butler, who was named Master Blender of the Year by Whisky Magazine for two consecutive years in 2021 and 2022 as well as receiving the same honour from The Spirits Business and Vinepair in 2021.

This multi-award-winning 1884 expression commemorates the final year Nearest Green is believed to have put his own whiskey into barrels before retiring from distilling. It was first launched in 2019 and has won so many awards it would be impossible to list them all.
