Stonestreet Estate Vineyards stands as one of the most extensive mountain estates in the world and is a testament to the quality of high-elevation winegrowing in California. Here one finds a collection of distinctive single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc - wines carved from an extreme landscape. Planted high atop Black Mountain, Stonestreet Estate Vineyards is located in the eastern portion of the Alexander Valley AVA. Climbing from 120 to 730 metres above sea level, the estate is a patchwork of peaks, valleys and ridges defined by high elevations, volcanic soils and cool maritime breezes. From top to bottom, the property possesses more than 20 soil types and 20 temperature zones. To ensure the utmost quality and authenticity, the estate is divided into 235 separate vineyard blocks and sub-blocks. Each section has its own specific rootstocks, varieties, clones and viticultural protocols matched to the complexities of the terrain. From these divergent terroirs, winemaker Lisa Valtenbergs crafts site-specific single vineyard wines each harvest.
