TASTING NOTES
REGION NOTES The site that provides our Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot has a well drained northern aspect, beautiful lateritic gravel soils with underlying granite and cooling sea breezes during the afternoon through the ripening period. There are 2 clones of Cabernet Sauvignon which ripen slightly differently, with the Merlot on the boniest of the soil. A great recipe for ripening tannins and fruit intensity. The Petit Verdot is from one the older sites in the Margaret River providing a low yield of intense inky coloured berries.
SNAKE + HERRING The Snake + Herring brand is a wine safari searching for remarkable grapes from West Australian Vineyards. The Search has begun, and our grape balloon manned by Snake (our winemaker) and Herring (our navigator) represent this.
The southwest of WA is a viticultural treasure map as there are vineyard jewels scattered throughout. We seek for blocks within vineyards that really shine; they may seem dull when diluted by the bordering lesser dirt. The search is to find and polish these often overlooked gems and present a treasure chest of different jewels: pristine, crystalline Rieslings; crisp, radiant, multi-faceted Chardonnays; alluring, perfumed Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; dark, exotic, hedonistic Shiraz; brilliant, regal displays of Cabernets and blends.

EXPERT REVIEWS
ERIN LARKIN 94 Points Cabernet sauvignon/franc/petit verdot/merlot. Aromatic and leafy, with lavender, cassis and mulberry on the nose. In the mouth, layers of licorice, raspberry compote, red apples and star anise compete for attention: it is soft, cushy and seamless. Quite lovely indeed. Creamy.
