Maison Louis Jadot controls over 150 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy, of which 70 hectares lie in the Cote d’Or: Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot, Domaine Louis Jadot, Domaine Gagey and Domaine du Duc de Magenta. Established in 1859 by Louis Henri Denis Jadot, succeeding generations continued to develop the House until the sale to Rudi Kopf ’s company Kobrand in 1985. The injection of capital saw big investment in vineyard acquisition including Chateau des Jacques in Beaujolais and the Cadus Tonnellerie.
Pierre-Henri Gagey, current President succeeded his father André Gagey in 1992 and today son Thibault is Deputy General Manager. In January 2013 Frederic Bernier succeeded long-time Chief Winemaker Jacques Lardiere, who today overseas the Jadot Oregon project, Resonance Vineyard.
PALATE
The wine will be quite complex because of the different grapes origin : Cote de Nuits, Saone et Loire and Irancy will give structure and tannins whilst Hautes Cote will gives fruitiness.
FOOD MATCHING
Grilled red tuna fish, grilled salmon, tataki beef, terrines, (rabbit, porc), moussaka, veal liver, fondue bourguignonne, tartar steak, roasted veal, duck breast salad, roasted guinea fowl, hard cheese.
REGION NOTES
The production area for this wine is the whole of Burgundy. The Louis Jadot Bourgogne Pinot Noir Couvent des Jacobins "cuvee" comes from a balanced blend of Cote d'Or, including Hautes Cote de Beaune and Hautes Cote de Nuits, Cote Chalonnaise (Mercurey) and Auxerrois (Irancy ).
VINIFICATION
The various wines are blended after a traditional vinification. Aging lasts 8 to 10 months in oak barrels from our cooperage or in stainless steel vats before being bottled.
