Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Coeur de Grain Rosé 2021 13.5% Magnum 1500ml

Tasting Notes
APPEARANCE
The wine reveals a pink pastel hue with pearly highlights.

AROMA
An expressive, crisp, fruity nose redolent of citrus, boxwood, white fruit and tangy mango.

PALATE
After a lively attack, the palate appears taut, unctuous and elegant with a typical fresh summer fruit vibrancy. At Clos Mireille, this vintage has given us a rosé that is bursting with freshness and delicious flavour.

GRAPES/BLEND
70% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 5% Syrah.

VINTAGE NOTES
A balmy autumn was followed by an equally mild winter. It was the time for manuring our soils and butting up the vines. After enjoying their rest, the vines stirred into life again with a classic budburst in early spring. On the night of 8 April, some of the vines where hit by frost. But nature surprised us by allowing new buds to emerge and bear fruit. The spring was rainy and the start of the flowering was late. The summer was hot, as it has been for almost 10 years, with heatwaves of varying duration and intensity. On 19 August, the grape pickers set to work to harvest the first bunches of Grenache.

DOMAINES OTT
In 1896 Marcel Ott of Alsace found an estate which inspired him, Château de Selle in Tarandeau, Provence, where once olives, lavender and mulberries grew. Enjoying a unique microclimate, the wines are delicate and elegant with great depth.

In the 1930s, Marcel Ott fell in love with the very old Clos Mireille, overlooking the sea at La Londe Les Maures, near Brégançon. The vines soon started producing distinctive yet subtle wines. Château Romassan in Bandol was acquired by the Ott family in 1956 and following years of terracing and replanting, produces robust, harmonious and long lived wines. Cœur de Grain represents wine-making genius, and today the distinctive bottle evokes the memory of the elegant amphora of centuries past. Today, 120 years later, cousins Jean-François and Christian Ott dedicate their lives to their ancestor’s love for Provence.

In 2004, Domaines Ott* joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.
