LEDAIG 18 YEAR OLD 46.3% 700ML

Peated and unpeated whisky from Tobermory – Mull’s only whisky distillery – was once used for both Ledaig and Tobermory. Now Ledaig is a purely peated malt, and a heavily-peated one at that.

The portfolio consists of just two permanent expressions, a 10-year-old and an 18-year-old, both of which are non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46.3% abv in the same fashion as their Tobermory siblings.

TASTING NOTES

This is the 18 Year Old Ledaig single malt, which offers up hearty phenols, smoky herbs, cracked black pepper and balancing waves of sherry-soaked fruit. This 18 Year Old Ledaig represents the rebirth of the style of malt whisky that would have originally been produced at the distillery. This sought after peated Hebridean style Single Malt Scotch Whisky balances rich and fruity, sherried smokiness with seaweed and light creosote that allows for a long and quite pungent Finish with more smoke and a hint of liquorice and sea spray.
