19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon 13.5% 750ml
This is the Cabernet Sauvignon red wine from 19 Crimes, bearing the same traits as those banished to Australia. Defiant by nature, bold in character. Always uncompromising.
It's a taste you'll never forget. The man depicted in the picture is a man named Cornelius Dwyer Kane (aka Keane). Keane(1839-1891) had been a law clerk and cener from Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland.
Transported aboard the Hougoumont, Keane was conditionally pardoned in 1871, but was forbidden from returning to Ireland, so he never reunited with his wife and children there. He did, however, settle in Queensland and became a civil servant.
Tasting Notes:
Dark red with burgundy edges. Dark fruit and toasted oak nose. Full body. Blackberry jam and spicy vanilla upfront. Toasted oak with notes of black cherry and dark chocolate. Jammy.
Food Pairing:
Beef, Lamb, Game (deer, venison), Poultry
