50% of this wine was fermented in old French barrels, not for the oak, but for the form of the vessel itself. Mouthfeel is gained here by high lees to wine contact and a more efficient natural lees stirring across unhurried wild ferments.

Rippon is one of New Zealand’s most established family-run vineyards, home to some of the oldest commercial vines in Central Otago. The biodynamic farm has been cared for by the Mills family for four generations and its 14 hectares of vines producing wines with a strong following across the globe.
