Vinification
Caldwell Lane Block A Chardonnay is hand picked and then cold stored for 24 hours. It is then taken straight to press for whole bunch pressing. The juice is taken to tank and left for 24 hours before racking straight to barrel taking some solids. The oak is about 20% new and it is wild fermented. It is left in oak for about 8 months and it is stirred every couple of weeks initially then once a month depending on the barrel and the structure that is needed.
Aroma
White peach, slightly toasted nuts.
Vintage notes
The vintage continued a run of dry and warmer vintages. The higher elevation vineyards ripened later and were able to be picked in March when the weather had cooled. This allows for greater natural acid retention and an ability to maintain a brightness to the wine.

5-10 years.
