Louis Roederer Blanc De Blancs 2014 Graphic 12% 750ml Gift Boxed

Louis Roederer Blanc De Blancs 2014 Graphic 12% 750ml Gift Boxed

The Blanc de Blancs Vintage is a pure, taut, fine, and bright wine. Its contrasting tones range from an intense, chiselled acidity to the supple lightness of notes of fresh hazelnuts, almonds, and white flowers with accents of acacia, broom, and honeysuckle. This elegant, racy cuvee quickly became the favourite wine of the Roederer family for major family events.

Tasting Notes: Bright golden hue flecked with green. Slow, gentle and steady bubbles. Very pure, delicate and ethereal bouquet. Delicate hints of flowers (honeysuckle, jasmine), ripe, fine and almost roasted citrus fruit (citron). These are followed by iodised, sea-breeze aromas, combined with the warm, sweet notes of freshly-baked pastries. After a fresh, energetic entry to the palate, the wine is dense, delicately zesty and invigorating. A predominantly saline character overlays flavours of citrus fruit (orange), harvest (almond, wheat) and Madagascan vanilla. The soft, melting bubbles give way to a limestone freshness, revealing an end-palate that seems light and powdery at first, but which surprises us with a real acceleration on the finish created by its elegant tannins and roasted spices.

Louis Roederer today remains one of the very few remaining family owned Houses in Champagne with 7th generation Frederic Rouzaud at the helm. From the 100 hectares acquired in 1850 by Louis Roederer, the Domaine today extends over 240 hectares averaging 98% on the official Echelle classification. All vineyard acquisitions follow Louis Roederer’s strict 70% policy – that is ownership of at least 70% of the total production. All Louis Roederer Cuvees are Estate grown with the exception of Brut Premier which is 60% estate fruit and 40% fruit sourced from long-term contracted growers.

Louis Roederer farm 65 Ha of their Domaine vineyards under a biodynamic and organic regime as part of what Chef de Cave Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon says is a work in progress. In 2012 Louis Roederer became the largest biodynamic producer in Champagne.
