Domaine de la Combe Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2020 12pack 12% 750ml

Pierre-Henri Gadais of Domaine de la Combe was born into a Loire Valley winemaking family. Following studies and experience in France and overseas, Pierre-Henri took over the new family Domaine; Domaine de la Combe, in Saint-Fiacre in 2016, within the Muscadet Sèvre et Main Sur Lie AOC. Pierre-Henri is focused on quality and enhancing the terroir, working towards Organic Certification later in 2021. Saint-Fiacre is the only village embedded between the two rivers of Nantes, the Sèvre and the Maine, and the Domaine vineyards are virtually surrounded by the Sèvre River in a unique microclimate - steep, rocky slopes conducive to the cultivation of Muscadet (Melon de Bourgogne). The vineyards were planted in part in the 1950s, with higher density plantings (7,700 vines per Ha) in 2016. The wines are wild-fermented in stainless steel, with ageing on lees “sur lie”, plus stirring, for 8 months (14 months for the Réserve Personnelle), and a minimal sulphur addition made pre-bottling.
