Partial maturation in French oak foudres and barriques; matured on lees for 4+ years; 7.1g/L dosage; disgorged May 2021. Masterful winemaking trumps a tricky season. Partial foudre and barrel fermentation have delivered impressive texture that counters the natural phenolic mood of the vintage, playing the tension of cool Pipers River chardonnay to energise a long finish. It will appreciate cork age to build generosity and soften its bitter phenolic edge, and it possesses the stamina to go the distance.
